Udemy is an online learning platform with courses on just about any subject imaginable. It is a great option for people who want to enhance their skills but might not be able to afford to go back to school. If you’re a stay at home parent Udemy can be a great way to keep your resume impressive while you’re away from the job market for a while.
I first came across Udemy when I did a google search for ways to earn passive income from home and I’ve been hooked ever since. Below are my five favorite courses that will teach you how to earn a passive income from home.
At the time of this post, all courses are on sale for $24. Udemy usually runs a sale about once a month. It will be anywhere from $10-$25. They can get as high as $200 when they are not on sale so it definitely pays to wait. I would suggest saving the course to your wishlist and waiting for the sale to happen.
This was the first Udemy course that I ever bought and it really got me focused on setting up passive streams of income. The instructor shows you how to combine short creative commons videos and add music and effects with the Youtube video editor. By doing this you will be able to collect add revenue from the videos. This is a great option for people who want to earn from YouTube but are not comfortable having their face or voice in the video. With over 5 million creative commons videos available for use, the possibilities are endless. The instructor also has valuable tips on how to increase your views and subscribers as well as advice on writing effective titles and descriptions.
2. Earn a Passive Income with Easy Game Apps Without Coding.
This course was created by two sisters Nancy and Deborah and it teaches you how to make easy, fun game apps for smart phones. I wasn’t sure I would be good at this because creating an app felt like it was way over my head. But the instructors break the steps down in a way that is really easy to understand. They show you all the places you can find free graphics and music and explain how to format it to fit your game. They also take you through writing descriptions and getting your app to the top of the list in the Google Play Store. Once you master the format of the matching game that the course teaches, you can create hundreds of games just by changing the graphics and music.
3. How I Make a Secondary Income with Mobile Photography
This course is all about earning money from your smart phone but taking pictures and selling them as stock photos. There are quite a few different apps that you can submit your photos to and the instructor gives you the ins and outs of each of them. He also provides his own earnings report which is quite motivating. He goes over basic editing techniques and what makes a stock photo sell better than others. Before taking this course I never knew that a lot of companies have monthly contests with cash prizes for high quality stock photos.
4. Self-Publish Your Children’s Book From Start to Finish
One thing I love most about this course is how passionate the instructor is. You can tell that writing children’s book is something that he really enjoys. There is no greater career achievement than waking up every day and doing something that you love to do. The instructor takes you through all the different self-publishing and marketing options. What I found most useful in this course was the information on how to get affordable illustrations for your book. Illustrations are not something that I would have been able to do on my own so I was relieved to see that I would still be able to complete my children’s book without spending a lot of money.
5. Creating a Udemy Course that Sells
You don’t need a degree to become a Udemy instructor, you just need to be knowledgeable and passionate about any subject of your choosing. The instructor teaches you how to prepare and outline your course easily and efficiently. She speaks from experience when talking about the do’s and don’ts of designing your course. She is very thorough and responds to student’s questions very quickly which I appreciated.
