I've been using the Viggle phone app for a while now. The way Viggle works is when you are watching tv, you hit the check in button on the app. Viggle then listens to your tv and finds the show that you are watching. You get one point for each minute of the show.
A newer feature is that you can check into music as well. You can check into 20 songs a day and you get 100 points per song. So that's 2000 points a day just for listening to music!
This app used to be really glitchy with error messages popping up often, but it seems they have worked all the kinks out now and its become one of my favorite apps. There is a wide variety of products that you can redeem your points on. I'm saving mine up for something big like an ipod touch or the amazon fire tv. I read about one woman who redeemed enough in gift cards to remodel her entire kitchen!
